The aim of yoga is the harmonious development of the whole person: body, mind and spirit. The essence of Yoga practice is the stilling of movement in the mind.
The word Yoga means union, the practices of Yoga unite or yoke the mind, body and breath enhancing emotional, mental and physical well-being.
The ancient scriptures or Yoga Sutras which scientifically describe the system of Yoga were complied by Patanjali, a sage who lived during Indias Golden age between 2,000 – 4,000 years ago.
